A Fool’s Remorse

All that glitters isn’t always gold

But that what doesn’t could never be

The universe, they say, always shows

Signs we ignore,

Science we’d never see.

So with every new-found-fun,

Cautious shall one be

For it’s too late when it is

And when it is so,

There’s nowhere one’d rather be

But in his past and not in misery.

Those signs, when shown by the gods,

Some truly don’t see,

Some turn the blind eye,

Some are too ignorant not to see,

The latter one is probably me.

They were right when they said

When it rains, it pours

When I finally left as ’twas then that

I’d only ever seen the door,

But I’d grown older before I was ever young

And every new morrow, older some more

Now that it had eventually rained,

It poured and poured and poured some more.
