Yes, it’s all true. We’ve all experienced the kind of love that happens when two flames combust, causing fireworks that leave you with burns to heal over time. And, scars that never fade. This is the kind of love they write novels and symphonies about. The same ones we write poetry about. The kind that teaches you more than you could ever learn in a lifetime.
Amongst the ruins, I found that there are hidden lessons under every shattered opportunity. It’s our goal to find them all and learn from it; like small gems that could be very valuable to us one day.
Sometimes, we do not get to marry those we wish to – the ones we can spend our years building memories of a life well lived. It seems as though, it can often shatter us and break us apart trying to find a resolution and bring everything back the way it seemed to be. But, that’s not always the case.
Other times, you’ll find yourself losing weight and becoming so drained from the massive heartache. To help, I painted the walls of my room the warmest colors I could find and bought myself flowers as if I were visiting myself in the hospital. I needed to nurse myself back to health and I knew I had to face the fear and find the takeaways.
You are a lot stronger than you think. Before him, you lived. Believe it or not, you will after him, as well. You have the power to find a way out of the unhappiness that seeks you.
To do that, find what you love and find what makes you burst with excitement. Because, when waking up hurts, breathing hurts and just being hurts – find goals and challenges that make you feel passionate and driven to accomplish – find what makes your soul soar.
While this is hard to swallow, we have to learn to accept the fact that not everyone is meant to be in your life forever.
Everyone you meet, adds something special to the story of your life. You’ll find that some people can love you more in a year than others could in a lifetime. But even more so, you’ll find that some people come into your life for a particular period of time to teach you something that no one else could ever match. Maybe, just maybe, we should be grateful we got to meet these people at all.
Through this journey, it opened my eyes of what could be. Funny enough, you get comfortable in your regularly planned schedule. But now, because of this heartache – that shattered your world, you’ll do anything to find opportunities that you previously neglected. Thing is, we get so trapped in the mundane motions of our routine that when our world comes to a shattering halt – it has an effect that lets the light in and provides clarity. Trust me, if not, you would be stuck in the rut of your dark hole unknowing of the world outside.

Learn to allow people into your life. Imagine trying to hold anything with a clenched fist. When you let your hand open – you can finally hold on to something that won’t let go.
Above everything, learn that forgiveness is not for the other person. It’s for yourself. Forgive your heart for loving that person and for the mistakes you’ve made. It’s worth letting that ache go – rather than letting it reside inside you. You don’t want to hold on to pain – it’s much heavier of a burden to bare.
Forgive them so your heart is able to open again. It can happen in silence for you and you alone. Clear your mind and focus on what’s important.
You were created for a specific reason and a specific purpose. You are as unique as can be. No one can take that from you. Unless you allow them. So, cherish your mind, feed it and make it the best it can be. Life is too short. And, one day you want to be able to say, damn- I lived one hell of a life.
Meeting and letting go of the love of your life doesn’t have to be your life’s single greatest tragedy. If you let it, it can be your greatest blessing.
