How does one become a poet?

What separates a good from the rest?

Flowery Language, heightened awareness or penchant for heavenly bodies?

Is it the ability to see things as they are not?

Or is it the ability to describe aberrance normally?

Do I need to rhyme the words?

Or do I need to make sure the lengths of the lines match?

Is it the confusion or the clarity in the mind?

Is it the feelings or the ability to feel?

Depressed writing or liberating catharsis?

Is it clever wordplay or mundane words masquerading as clever?

Has this poem started without me wanting it to?

Did this become a poem and made me a poet?
