The day started being celebrated since June 21, 2015, till today. International Yoga Day was first proposed by the current Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi during his speech at the UNGA, on September 27, 2014.

This posture is called Cat and Cow pose and it helps in relief of back pain effectively.

Firstly, just like in the picture above, get yourself to the same posture. Then, while inhaling, lift your head up while pushing down your stomach as shown in the picture. And exhaling slowly move your head down and stomach up, getting back to the first position. Try doing 6-8 slow rounds for 1-3 mins.

Planking is the best exercise for your core because it builds isometric strength to help sculpt your waistline and improve your posture.  What you need to do is lie face down with legs extended and elbows bent and directly under shoulders. Clasp your hands tight, contract your stomach, then tuck your toes. Lift your body off the ground and support yourself on your toes and forearms. suggests that your feet should be hip-width apart, and elbows should be shoulder-width apart. You should be in a straight line from head to heels, just like the picture below. Hold for 60 seconds or as long as you can.

It may not look like much, but you might have difficulty to hold the position. However, it won’t take long to feel it in your abs. Planking regularly is one of the best ways to strengthen your core.

Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose)

The very easy cobra pose will help get rid of stomach fats. All you have to do is lie face down on a yoga mat. Then, gently spread your arms on the floor and stretch your legs back and point your toes. Bring the arms to you and put your palms on either side of your shoulders and slowly lift just your upper body. Make sure your pubis (pelvic bone) and toes form a straight line and touch the floor. advices to ‘try holding this position for 25-30 seconds for a better result’.

Lastly, among all the tips of yoga, there is one that helps you to fix all of your problems and that is Surya Namaskar. You name it and this can help you get rid of it. It even helps to get a good face glow, helps in weight loss, helps to get flat tummy, flexible body, happy gut and many more.
